However well i know him, he cannot be described.
he cannot be expressed by words.
the guru is the secret that solves the riddle.
he is the benefactor of all.
let me never forget him.
Remember the true name
and meditate on its glory in the ambrosial hour.
through your actions you receive this body,
and by his grace the door to salvation opens.
If my single tongue becomes a hundred thousand,
and this hundred thousand becomes twenty times more,
with each tongue would i sing a hundred thousand times
the only name of the master of the world.

saint or sinner are no empty words;
all our actions have been recorded.
man sows and he himself reaps the harvest.

If you must bow, bow to him (god).
he is the primal being, pure, without beginning or end;
he is the unstruck sound.
he is immutable through all time.

If you must bow, bow to him (god).
he is the primal being, pure, without beginning or end;
he is the unstruck sound.
he is immutable through all time.

The lord is truth. truth is his name.
his praises are sung in endless ways.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
― Rumi

It matters not

who you love,

where you love,

why you love,

when you love,

or how you love,

It matters only

that You love

There is a place in you where there is perfect peace.
There is a place in you where nothing is impossible.
There is a place in you where the strength of God abides.

From 'A Course In Miracles'

Heaven on Earth' is a choice you must make,
not a place you must find.

Dr. Wayne Dye

The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back.

Abigail Van Buren

Sow a thought, and you reap an act; Sow an act, and you reap a habit; Sow a habit, and you reap a character; Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.

Charles Reade

Travelers, it is late.
Life's sun is going to set.
During these brief days that you have strength,
be quick and spare no effort of your wings.

Rumi

You suppose you are the trouble

But you are the cure
You suppose that you are the lock on the door
But you are the key that opens it
It's too bad that you want to be someone else
You don't see your own face, your own beauty
Yet, no face is more beautiful than yours.

Rumi

In truth everything and everyone

Is a shadow of the Beloved,
And our seeking is His seeking
And our words are His words...
We search for Him here and there,
while looking right at Him.
Sitting by His side, we ask:
'O Beloved, where is the Beloved?'

Rumi

Outside ideas of right doing and wrong doing there is a field.

I'll meet you there.

Rumi

God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches you by means of opposites, so that you will have two wings to fly - not one.

Rumi

You wander from room to room
Hunting for the diamond necklace
That is already around your neck!

Nothing is so strong as gentleness,
and nothing is so gentle as true strength.

From what we get, we can make a living;
what we give, however, makes a life.

For attractive lips,
speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
― Rumi

As many as are the waves of the sea

As many as are the waves of the sea,
so many are the desires of the mind.
Stilling them all, one sits with contentment
holding the thought of the One
     in his self.

Bulleh Shah’s Poetry-- Makkeh Gaya, Gal Mukdee Naheen

ber 1, 2009 by qausain
-
Makkay gayaan, gal mukdee naheen
Pawain sow sow jummay parrh aaeey
Going to Makkah is not the ultimate
Even if hundreds of prayers are offered

-
Ganga gayaan, gal mukdee naheen
Pawain sow sow gotay khaeeay
Going to River Ganges is not the ultimate
Even if hundreds of cleansing (Baptisms) are done

-
Gaya gayaan gal mukdee naheen
Pawain sow sow pand parrhaeeay
Going to Gaya is not the ultimate
Even if hundreds of worships are done

-
Bulleh Shah gal taeeyon mukdee
Jadon May nu dillon gawaeeay
Bulleh Shah the ultimate is
When the “I” is removed from the heart!
